Heat buildup on the roper's hands due to friction occuring during FastRope descent, in addition to the bulkiness of the traditional glove, limited the roper's dexterity to efficiently fire a weapon. 

By identifying the contact points and adding specialized material inserts-in specific locations, API was able to significantly reduce heat transfer while maintaining enough dexterity to accurately and efficiently fire a weapon.

API continues to utilize it’s knowledge and capabilities in material science to develop protective and tactical equipment solutions for military and civilian first response personnel.
